Hello,
I've been an avid ibooks user for the longest time, but I just got a book, isee by david woodbridge, as well as a few others, that are done up in a different format. They seem to be interactive books. is there a tutorial on how to navigate those?

Hi,
I'm an IBooks-user since a year and I read so many books with it. Most of the books I was interested was fully accessible to read, but for example Harry Potter wasn't accessible for VO and my Focus brailledevice. Could someone explain why some books areN't redable?

I have a few reasons & a possible workaround.
1. There's pics in the book
I encountered this with my ipad's manual.

2. This may be a stretch, but maybe the author didn't make it in an accessible format
It pains me to say it, but sadly, J. K. Rowling isn't exactly known for her accessibility & making her books available to providers of books for disabled people such as Bookshare.

I do have a work around. I quit using Ibooks shortly after getting my ipad. It was unreliable & it required many a workarounds that I had to use. Plus, I found the selection to be limited. So, I switched to the Kindle app! So far, all the books I've bought have been accessible. If you don't have an Amazon account, then you'll need to create one. If you already do, then you'll just have to sign into your Kindle app & be done! You'll get accessible books, & you've got way more of a selection than Ibooks. I hate for you to have to open yet another account, but unless you've got prime, then it's free, plus you can shop from Amazon's site. And not only that, but I am willing to bet that once you get that set up, you'll enjoy it, & at least I think you will find that it's more accessible than Ibooks books.

Hi,
i tried Amazon Kindle for two days. I think theaccessiblility with VO is perfect. VO reas all text from all books which Kindle offers. Unfortunatly I read all my purchased books with my Focus Brailledivce from Freedom Scientiffic. The working between my Brailledisplay is not so good. For example I can't navigate to the contenct directory. in Ibooks is it very easy to skip in all chapters from the current book. I love Ibooks but I think it could be more books in the library.
