How is iOS 8.1.1 on a 4S?

iOS 6 is the last supported iOS for the 3GS. I have a 3GS with iOS 6 on it. It is slow and sluggish when flicking through home screen icons and even more so when opening apps. IOS 8 is most likely the last iOS the 4S will support. If I upgrade my 4S from iOS 7 to iOS 8, will I have the same problems on the 4S as I do on the 3GS? Thank you.

Hi.
You shouldn't have the same issues as long as you upgrade to 8.1.1. I've got a friend of mine who has a 4S and she recently updated to the latest iOs, and is having no real issues. But, yeah, I believe that iOs 8 is the last supported for the 4S, due to it being 3.5 years old or so.

Why would the 3GS be slow on it's last iOS and the 4S not be slow on it's last iOS? It's the same case of old hardware trying to run new software

Apple has developed IOS 8 and 8.11 to work on older devices. I'm not sure if IOS 6 was developed in the same manner of speaking.
