How do I get out of editing mode on iPhone using VoiceOver?

Hello dear Apple Vis members!
If I posted this thread on the wrong forum, please move it to the correct one.
After reading your articles for a long time, I felt so finally that I need to register in this amazing community and ask my first question πŸ™‚
The question is, when I enter text using VoiceOver, I don't know how to get out of edit mode. I mean, for example, when I open Facebook Messenger and go to chat with someone, after opening an edit box to enter text and clicking the send button, how can I hide the keyboard? On Samsung devices, pressing the back button hides the keyboard, so the chat buttons reappear, although on the iPhone, even if I press the back button, after returning to the chat where I was before, the keyboard is displayed automatically. Someone suggested holding the phone in landscape orientation, but that didn't help. Also, I tried to hit the edit box again, although when I do, VoiceOver only reports the position of the cursor and the keyboard is still there.
Can you please tell me how to exit edit mode?

One of the things I do is touch another part of the screen, above the keyboard, then I can swipe to where I need to be, such as posting a comment.

Hello. I've the same question, namely, how can I exit edit mode? I mean not move voiceover focus to some other element, but hide the keyboard, with voiceover off it can be performed just tapping above the keyboard. Possible use case: I'm chatting in messenger and want to hide the keyboard to show more messages on the one screen, but how can I do that without reentering the dialog.
Thanks in advanced

I've done this. You take two fingers and put them together on the screen. Then make a scrubbing motion, like you're getting something off the screen. You should hear "keyboard hidden" and a little swishy sound it makes when it opens or closes a keyboard. Now, how do you get the keyboard back? That, kids, is the next mystery. ;)
