It seems that a lot more blogs are using captchas to reduce spam when commenting.
These usually involve picking the number of street signs or squares with vehicles in.
I do often find a button which says get audio Challenge, but nothing seems to happen when I click it, in fact none of the buttons in the captcha work when I double tap on them.
How do you deal with this problem? Multi-line text field

I've had the same annoyance
I've had the same issue. There is a knew captcha that just involves checking a box that says I'm a human or something like that, and it'll watch how you click it, and get your ip. address and other things to determine if you're a bot or not. It was created by Google. That being said, it's not widely adopted yet. But, there are sites that have this. Just not many as of yet. And I too have encountered useless audio challenge buttons.
Now, there are a few ways to make them bearable. If you have another Ios. device, you could either take a photo with Seeing Ai. or another app, and see if it can do anything with it. Or you can use Be My Eyes to get help. Or, if you have someone who is sighted around, that can help. If you're doing something on the computer, you could use say your iphone to take a pic or Be My Eyes. I'm on the lookout for other ways to deal too. But, this is what I can think of.
Yes, itβs the Google recaptcha Iβm having trouble with
Now to figure out whether itβs a voice-over problem, a Safari problem or a Google problem.
Iβve tried filling it out in the Google Chrome browser but no luck.
None of the buttons in the captcha are responsive, and double tapping help or skip doesnβt do anything either.

It's even worse for us deafblind. I can hear a bit, but not enough.
I have seen captchas somewhere that ask a simple question like how many days in march.
I would like to try a speech-to-text program on some captchas. No doubt the spammers will do this long before me
since they have the infernal energy of demons and I only have Folgers.
In the meantime I will try one of the programs like be my eyes, take a screenshot of the captcha
and see if the helper can tell me what it is. Oh wait, that won't work on the
which-squares-have-cars-in-them captchas.
some advice
Hi Ipadman! I've had goo experience with this. What I've found is that if you either double-tap and hold, or double tap, and swipe either left or right once or twice. Sometimes, it takes a minute or 2 because there's stuff being taken to identify you and your device. And 1 of the things it watches is how you click the box. I've had that happen a few times, but for the most part, I've found they are pretty accessible. I would just keep trying the things I suggested. And have patience, because as I've said before, it is still in its infancy. I sure do hope this gets more widely adopted, because I find them more accessible than some of the others. I have an Amazon Echo and I subscribe to a forum related to that. And when I post a question or comment on there, it has 1 of those checkboxes, and I've found that what I've suggested works. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tips, I deal
Thanks for the tips, I deal with this regularly as well and have the same questions.
it depends
You're welcome! It depends on what site you are using. Not every tip will work for every site. And just because 1 may work with 1 site, doesn't mean it'll work with another. And if anyone else on here has ideas and tips, please post them on here! I'm, and probably the rest of you, are ALWAYS looking for ways to deal with the annoyance of captchas.
Thanks for the tips Dawn, but
Unfortunately, no luck for me.
When I double tap and hold on the box, voice-over says moving insertion point but nothing else happens.
