How are you able to use split view on iPadOS?

Hi, I read some posts here on applevis about how VoiceOver users use their iPads as primary machine for getting things done.

Maybe it's just me, but when I have two apps in split view or or in slide over, VoiceOver focus will randomly disappear which makes hole experience very frustrating.

Is there some settings I need to turn off to make VoiceOver focus more stable?

Hope it's not only me with this experience.

I haven’t used it recently. But I could think the voiceover jumping would be a bug. I will give you one idea that you can try though. Are use anything I do in split view mode.
And when doing that I resize every thing to be a 50-50 split. For me @ least it's easier.
As for focus jumping I'd contact Apple. I could be wrong but to me it sounds like a bug.
Maybe try making sure apps and software are up-to-date.

Also Dave Nason did a podcast and wrote a guide on how to use split and slide over on ipad. If you search AppleVis for multi-tasking on ipad and clickon guides or podcasts search filters then you'll find them.

well, I can't say I use it a huge amount, but I don't recall having any trouble the last time I did, in that case it was two finder windows.

Can you give an example of what you were running and what happened?

I agree, the 50 50 split it the easiest way to do it, particularly if you're working on something for a while. I've also found that you need to be pretty good at using your iPad spacially, in other words know roughly where things are on the screen or it can get a bit confusing.
