Help wanted for notifications on locked screen since IOS 16

Hi Folks
Since updating to IOS 16, I can't activate any of the notifications on my locked screen. A single swipe up or down gives me options to clear, open a tool bar so I can mute for an hour or a day and also block. All of these are working properly. However whatever I try, I simply can't activate a notification. If it's in a stack I can double tap to open the stack but still can't activate.
I've tried a one finger double tap and also swiping up to activate and double tapping but neither gets any results.
I've looked in settings but can't see anything obvious that needs to be turned on or off, all settings seem to be the same as they were prior to IOS 16. Any helpful hints gratefully received as having to remember the notifications and manually enter into each app to find the specific thing is getting a little annoying to say the least!
Many thanks

Hello, try double tapping then wait a second then double tap again. I've found that seems to work. This is a bug but in the beta test of 16.1 which should be out soon this seems to work better. Or at least for me it has.

Many thanks to Lee & Jo for your very quick replies.
Sadly having tried Lee’s first which didn’t work for me and then changing setting to list, my notifications remain stubbornly arriving in stacks. I can open those stacks to create a list but still can’t activate them.
Glad to learn though that this is recognised as a bug so looking forward to the next update with fingers crossed.

The procedure did indeed work on my iPhone. Thanks for the tip.

In iOS 15, when I got a message or notification on my lock screen, I could flick up to clear and double-tap to clear the message from the screen. Now in iOS 16, when I flick up and double-tap clear, the message does not clear. I must flick to dismiss and double-tap that. Am I doing something wrong or has Apple decided to make clearing the screen more complicated?

I hope it's just a bug, because although it's minor, it can be a pain in the neck for someone who likes to do something quickly and efficiently.

I, too, am having the same exact issue. I am hoping iOS 16.1 will eliminate this problem.

I'm struggling a bit with notifications too. I find it's usually helpful to start at the bottom, go back through the camera and flashlight, and find the show notifications button. When I double tap on that, the notifications seem much better at interactions.

I'm having the same issue with the notifications on the lock screen, but opening notification center from the lock screen, then double tapping on the notifications seems to work for me.

After updating to iOS 16, 16.01 and 16.02+ trying the suggestions above, I still cannot activate notifications. I can clear them. I can see the options that Debi referred to but nothing I try allows me to activate a notification for anything, not messages, not YouTube, not Google apps, etc. I have also tried the suggestion for setting notifications to list, and nothing works to fix the problem. Any thoughts?
It’s starting to really drive me nuts because I rely on my notifications a lot. So any help is appreciated!
