Hi
Recently, I have noticed that sometimes when I use the vertical navigation feature of the voiceover rotor, and try to flick up or down, The only feedback I get is the drum sound.
It’s like it will sometimes work, and sometimes it will not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have an iPhone 6 running on iOS 12.2.

HI, I’m not sure if you are aware of this, or if this is the issue, but using the vertical rotor option does not allow for continuous scrolling of the page. Since you mentioned that using the gesture sometimes works for you I’m wondering if the noise you are hearing just means you are at the bottom of the screen? For example using the vertical gesture in the settings app would still require that you use a 3 finger swipe up or down in order to continue down the list of options. Using the flick up or down gesture when vertical rotor option is selected only allows the user to cycle through content that is displayed on screen. Hope this helps.

I mostly use it in the Game World application when playing the battle cats game. I just tried using the three finger gesture and it is working fine now.

I used to have this same issue, until I called Apple Inc. and asked them for help. They told me, go to your settings app. From there go to general, accessibility, accessibility shortcut and select voiceover. After that, turn voiceover off and then back on and it should be working for you. Not sure if you need to have vertical navigation already trying to be used or not, might try it that way too. Hope that advice helps and good luck!

You’re welcome, I’m glad the info helped. It was so long ago that I can’t really remember whether or not they said. It might just be something in the software.
