Help with Overdrive bookmarks

Hello folks,
Has anyone here figured out how to use bookmarks when reading ebooks with the Overdrive app? If you have perhaps you would be so kind as to share a few hints here. I have searched online and failed to find any answers that match the current version of Overdrive. Similarly, the built in help does not provide any answers either.
Generally, I read ebooks chapter by chapter. A two finger swipe down reads the entire chapter. When I reach the end of a chapter I use the title menu to move to the next chapter and then repeat as required.
However, some ebooks have quite long chapters and reading the entire chapter is not always practicable. If reading is interrupted part way through a chapter Overdrive returns to the beginning of the current chapter when reading is resumed later. It would seem that bookmarks could solve this problem if I could only figure out how to use them!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
