headset issue with iphone xr

hi all, I want to know if any other iphone xr owners have this issue I'm having. I've noticed from time to time when using my headset that came with my iphone, voiceover will just stop speaking and I'll get nothing, as if my phone has just shut off, and no sounds. I then have to unplug the headset and then I get everything back and then I can plug my headset back in and it works fine. has anyone else who has an xr noticed this, or am I one of the very few who seem to have this rare and strange issue. I've never had this with any other iphone I've owned in the past, including my last one which was the iphone seven.

I am curious when you lose sound in your headphones do you begin hearing sound coming from your phone speakers? That is what has happened to me. I thought it was a problem with the headphones.

no, that's just it, i hear no sounds, not even through the speaker. like i said i have to unplug my headset then it works fine.

I don't use the included earbuds very often, but when I have I have never observed this problem with my iPhone XR.

But I have had the problem where earphones that I have bought will stop speaking and the speech starts coming out of the speakers on the phone. Very frustrating, because I'm not sure if the problem is with the earphones or the phone itself.

I don't currently have an XR, but I have encountered a similar issue with my 8+.

On occasion, while I had my lightning EarPods plugged in, the sound, including VoiceOver, would completely cut off and only unplugging and replugging the headphones solved the problem.

I do not recall the exact reason why this would happen, but I know that others have encountered this issue on iPhone 8/8+ and even on the 7/7+ models as well.

Like I said, it has happened to me on my 8+ from time to time, but not regularly.

Although I mainly use my Sony wireless studio headphones now and my AirPods during my commute and at work.

I do use the EarPods as a backup in case all else fails.

HTH!
