Hay. Can anyone help me clean my iPhone speaker? I accidentally vomited on my iPhone in bed and now my speaker isn't working. Even if I put it in rice and turn it off, it still doesn't work. It sounds distorded when I play a ringtone. When I get Siri to work or voiceover to work, it doesn't make any sound at all. Only the vibrate works, but that's just about it. Can anyone help please? I have an iPhone 6 running iOs8.4 beat. Thanks.

I reckon you're out of luck with this. Should think the speaker got wet. Sometimes they dry out and come back to life, but perhaps the acidity/consistency would've dealt an extra blow. How long did you leave the phone submerged in dry rice for?

Hi.
I would try to take the phone into an apple store and see if they can replace the speaker under warranty. Hopefully that should work.

If you are close to an apple store take it there. Or best bye. Hope you have apple care.

Hello,
It has been over ten years since this topic has been opened. Who has managed to find it and revive this topic, I'm genuinely surprised.

Hi all,

A spammer (whose account and posts have since been removed) registered a new account and posted in this 10-year-old topic overnight U.S. time. This usually happens with topics where they can conveniently answer a user's question by just happening to be able to provide the perfect solution, if only you visit a particular website or download a certain app. All the while making it look as though they are a genuine end-user and just being helpful.

So you can grab a needle and go inside and very very very very very gently scrape out whatever might be in there. If you want, you can even cover the needle with a cloth and get in there. Some people even like using a little bit of isopropyl alcohol. It’s gonna take a little time and patient. However, short of taking the phone to an Apple Store or a verified repair center, that’s all you can really do. Also, at this point, it’s very unlikely that an iPhone 6 would be repaired by any verified Apple repair center. You might have to live with the fact that this is a consequence of life and when you can, buy a new phone.
