I've Just upgraded to an iPhone 11 from an iPhone S.e and I'm having a little bit of trouble getting used to Face ID. .
I can get it to work most of the time if I want to unlock my phone or make an in app purchase. I wouldn't say I have a 100 percent success rate but I can get it to open most of the time. . However the times I do really struggle is when I want to use my phone to make a contactless payment at say a a store checkout. . Admittedly I haven't tried to use it a whole lot but when I have the results seem to be more down to chance than any solid method on my part..
I've followed the instructions. IE whole back of phone to the contactless reader and press the power button on the side twice. but what happens next seems somewhat random. Some times it doesn't recognise me , some times it just sits at the card screen and does nothing as though it's waiting for some other input and some times the transaction works. but I'm not always aware that it has. .
I'm wondering if there is a step that I'm missing?

for context I have no vision and I have attention mode set to on. . I could try turning this feature off. but I would prefer to have it set to on if at all possible so my transactions are more secure.
any help and advice you could give would be great.
