Having problems with uber reliably showing the ETA of a ride with voiceover?

Hey everyone! So over here in the UK, I am having some issues with the uber app. I will go to book an uber and before you request a ride, it used to show you the ETA of the closest car available. For around 3 or 4 months now, it hasn't been doing that. I will get the back button, then it will say something like, showing recommended product list use the swipe action to access the full product list. You only get the ETA once you have requested your ride and it is on the way. However, I went and stayed with a friend in Birmingham on the weekend and the ETA was reliably there. It was like, ETA 2 minutes, and it displayed your pickup location. This just seems to be a london thing? If you uninstall and reinstall the app, you get it back for the first ride, but the moment you close the app, it goes away. Has anyone else experienced this? I contacted uber and they have said they will only look into it further if 5 people report it. They told me to get people to mention my name if they call up about it, and it will get linked to my case and then they will investigate it.

When I'm in the product list, the ETA will sometimes be read only after the long-winded description of the product. e.g. Assist: Assistance from certified drivers, something else, then 2 minutes away, then an estimated time to destination.

I'm not certain why this behaviour is in the app, as I have been using Uber for years with no issues around this.

So I just pretended to put in a trip, I get to the product list and it is like, Uber X fair and then it will say the fair, estimated time to destination, but you won't actually get the ETA of the closest car to you. It's really strange.

Hi. I'm sure this is dumb, but did you have the latest version of the app? In America it did this for awhile. They eventually did fix it. As for the ETA is usually just under the back button. Noa if only Uber and lyft would keep putting out promotions for existin users. :) Sorry I'm not more help.other person, I find th

Hi, yes, i've got the most up to date version of the app. It's so weird. The ETA is only there if you uninstall and reinstall the app. It's so weird!

if reinstalling the app fixes the problem then it must be an issue with the updating process. it could be that something from the old version didn't get cleaned out during the update and it could be interfering with something in the new version. let me guess, you're running iOS 13, right?

Yeah, i'm using ios 13. The thing is, in London a lot of us have had this for about 3 or 4 months now and there's been loads of updates released. As I said above, in Birmingham last weekend, the ETA's were showing up absolutely fine. It's so strange!
