GPS app recommendations?

Hi,

I am looking for an accessible GPS that will work with my iPhone 3GS while I'm out walking. I have an older Humanware "Trekker" unit, but you have to use the little satallite device along with a speaker & the PDA so it's a bit cumbersome. Also since the device is older, it doesn't always work as well as I would like it to when walking.

I've looked at Navigon, but it's expensive and some of the reviews i've encountered say it's a memory hog, isn't always accurate & more for driving than walking.

I've also looked at Sendero's "Look Around" which is pretty accessible, but also somewhat simplistic. Also reviews indicate that it's not always that reliable.

Additionally I'm looking for a GPS app that will announce the street I am approaching ahead of time so I'll know what is coming up.

None of the apps I've searched seem to have this capability.

I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions.

Hopefully someone can help me out with my quest.

Thanks,

Adam

hi adam, I use motion x gps drive for walking and driving. it will tell you when your a few feet away from a street prepare to turn direction on to name of street. you have to pay a subscription for voice guidance but I like it over the others. Brandon

I live in a large city full of skyways. I'm looking for a GPS navigator that will let me assign my own waypoints as i walk so that when I retrace my steps it will help me make the right turns.. Has too The audible, I really can't see a map. This is for my iPhone six.
