Goodreads app accessibility improvements

I just wanted to let you guys know that we have just released a new version of the Goodreads app which is much more accessible than previous versions!

This version introduces a whole new book page with accessible details about book editions, accessible rating controls, and rating summaries that tell you the pattern of how people rated a book. We’ve also replaced the inaccessible Currently Reading controls with accessible ones, which has been broken for quite some time.

Going forward, Goodreads is going to make sure that any new features we build are accessible!

Here is a link to our app in the App Store:

Also, is there a way for me to update our entry in the app directory?

Thank you so much for the accessibility improvements.
I don't think you can update the entry, but the site admins can, and I'm sure the accessibility rating will be changed in order to reflect these improvements soon.

Now if only the recommendations screen would be fixed as that's still broken.

I also wanted to say, that such posts and statements make me truly happy! Seeing that developers care and do a lot about accessibility gives you back hope, that its stil possible to have an accessible world. :)
I've been using Goodreads for a long time to keep track of my reads and books I want to read. This update helps a lot to do that!
So, my biggest thanks to the whole team! :)

I'm glad your paying attention to accessiblity as I am an avid Goodreads user.

I hope you'll be able to make the app more and more accessible.

One problem that I've incounered while using the new version.

On the home tab I've noticed that if a book has been reviewed, it is hard to read the review using flicks. I flick right and the review text is skipped. If I select it by tapping on the text and then flick right I don't get to the "read more" link.
I f I tap on the "read more" link to open it VO still only reads the preview text and I have to swipe down with two fingers to get it to read the whole review.

I, too want to add my thanks to the app devs for fixing the accessibility issues. I use Good Reads via the web a lot. Not I can redownload the app and get faster access to my good reads info. Thanks for caring about the accessibility features of this app as many people rely on them. Love the info from Good Reads.
