Hi, every one! I appologize if this question was asked bf. But, are there any apps that will convert YouTube videos to MP3 on the Ipad? Ideally, I'd like to just get the URL from the YouTube video, put it into the app, then, once it's converted, download the MP3 file. If no such app exists, then what online converters do you recommend? Also, if no app exists, then, I'd be more willing to use a shortcut rather than a web site. Thank you all in advance! :-)

Do you have a windows/mac machine?
You could try youtube/dl
What you do is download the exe file from, https://youtube-dl.org/
Place it in a folder you'll remember, then use the command line to find the folder, cd downloads, for example, then write youtube-dl, space, paste the URL of the video/playlist into the console and press enter.
You can do a lot more than that but the basics should do what you want, you can install ffmpeg to convert to mp3 but I don't know how to do that.
There's also pontes media downloader for windows which converts youtube to mp3.
no, I don't have a cumputer
No, I do not have a computer of any kind. My appologies for not clarifying that in my original post. That's why I need something for my Ipad.
Would be very interested in this, too!
I don't have a computer + I would prefer it to be a website compatible with latest version of Chrome or Safari on an ios or ipados device. Thanks in advance!
It's ok.
I read where you posted this but thought you might have one so thought I'd post and see what happens.
Would you like to try the Tubecasts App?
https://apps.apple.com/app/id1470774095
It is not free App. But there will be a great discount in the Christmas holidays.
Disclose: I am the developer of this App.
Re: Brad
Hi, Brad. I agree with you. I've adopted that philosophy myself! :-)
Re: Tubecasts
Hi,
Can you convert Youtube videos into MP3 and download them? Because I'd be interested in trying this. How accessible is it? Do you ha promo code out of curiosity? Also, in the interest of not wanting to mispronounce or spell your name, I just put Tubecasts. But, yes, I'd be interested.
Yes, it can "Save" Audio track only data to a mp4 file
in the directory of Files or Album.
The file package format is "mp4", but it can only contain audio track. so the size is as large as a mp3 file.
I have not received any issues report about accessibility yet. But if any issues found, I would like to fix them.
Question about Tubecast Built Price and App Purchase
Hello,The app is a paid app, but there also seems to be an extra app purchase. Could you elaborate upon the features that we won't get if we only pay the one-time price?
The app description on the App Store says little.
All features enabled for one-time purchase
Extra In-App purchase is a "Tip Jar" feature for somebody want to support more.
Revival
Sorry for reviving this thread, but couldn't find another one about this. Anyone know of free apps? Or they all are paid?
Youtube websites.
You could try youtube downloader websites, i'm not sure how good they would be on an Iphone though so you'll have to try one and see what happens.
using Shortcuts
There's a very good shortcut I use called r download. I will paste the link for convenience but first, a quick note on how to use.
Before starting, please make sure you have the shortcuts app installed on your iPhone.
1. Click get shortcut on the page my link takes you to
2. The shortcut will guide you through a setup process
3. Go to the video you want to download on the YouTube app
4. Click share and scrole down to find r download
5. At the top of the screen, explore by touch by dragging your finger on the screen. You will find a dialog asking you to allow a few things and select the format and or quality you want to download in.
6. Once done, the video will be saved to camera role.
Notes: I can't remember if this does mp3 or not but thought I'd share anyway, seeing as videos are quite easy to convert or you could just use the video file.
I'm not actually sure how private this is. I think fairly but obviously do use at your own discretion.
here is the link to the shortcut:

Website
Not an app, but I always use http://tubemp3.is/. It's easier to use, and it's free. That's all I need.
tubecast
I get a message about it being unailable in my country or region and I'm in the US.
