Hey all!
I'm looking for a good dictionary app. What do you guys recommend? I'm happy to pay, as long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg or subscription based. I'm hopefully going to be starting a course with Hadley for transitioning to UEB. in a week or 2. And one of the suggestions they have in their welcome email, is to have a dictionary handy. So I thought I'd come here and see what good accessible dictionary apps you guys would suggest. Before I get my course materials and need to start working on assignments. That way, I have time to download the app, play with it and figure out how it works. Just in case I needed it.
I appreciate any suggestions! Thank you so much in advance!

I have Merriam-Webster: for my iPhone and watch. It is good but you have to pay. I think is 1:00. It is good and accessible.

there are several dictionaries included in ios, select from settings > general > dictionaries, then just search from spotlight. a free solution for you. these dictionaries are the same as those offered in mac os, so they are not bad at all.

Thank you both! I definitely will be taking both of your suggestions! I’ll still keep an eye out on this thread just in case anyone else has any other good suggestions. I can’t wait to start my unified English braille course!

The issue with some is that they tend to have ads. If you pay it will not and you do not need to deal with them.

I see. Period but yes. If I am to be using an app for something like this, I don’t think I would want to have ads. LOL

no Holger, no ad. these dictionaries are part of the ios. i suppose apple paid for the right to use it, so it's free for the users.

i see you are from chicago. i was there before rahm emanuel, how are things going there these days?

It is nice to know about that. I wish I knew that before I gout the app but the app works well with watch and iPhone. Chicago is OK and doing well. Do not listen to the news about Chicago been bad, it is doing well in 90% of the city. We do have issues but who does not.

Hi! I just have a quick question.
Do I just go to the spotlight screen, and then type

define: braille
for example?

if your configuration generates lots of siri suggestions, then adding the word "define" would put dictionary result on top, otherwise, it is not necessary. also, just define, no colon needed, like "define braille".
