iOS and iPadOS
Steps to reproduce:
1. Select either of the new US siri voices
2. Find any sentence with the word, "the".
3. Navigate the sentence by word. How is the word, "the", pronounced?
It says hyphen wrong as well when putting a dash symbol in a word or phrase like self-control for example if you switch to characters in the roter you should see what I'm talking about. What can I say we are a bunch of nitpicky folks but with good reason! It sounds to me as if it is saying hife tin..
I had to add an item to the pronunciation dictionary because it was driving me nuts. I'd suggest alerting Apple via the Feedback app. That's what I did and the more folks that report it, the better.
It’s a real shame because they are 2 very good voices. I switch to them from time to time. Because of these bugs, I struggle to use them for any length of time because articulation is a big thing for me. Just a question though. I’d be interested to hear what people think of the new female Siri voice? I think she’s a bit cheesy, but that’s just me being fussy
What is this feedback app you were talking about and in regards to the voices I like the African-American male voice and I do think the female voice the new one, is a little cheesy as well. I have a trumpet player friend who has a really good voice and I think he would be really good as a Siri voice although it would probably be annoying after a while to listen to his voice even though I like how it sounds I wouldn’t want him to read my email or other text messages lol!
I've noticed this bug when using the female Siri voice as my voiceover voice. She sounds like she's pronouncing "the" as "the see". I used her for a while and recently switched back to Ava as my voiceover voice and am trying voice 2 as Siri. It will be interesting to see what comes of this in IOS 15.
I hope that in iOS15 we will be able to use the neural Siri voices with VO. That way if you want to use the Siri voices, you wonT have two copies of them taking up space on your phone. The versions of the siri voices that VO uses right now are way bigger than the ones that Siri itself uses.

Bug with new Siri voices
I have experienced this bug myself. There are also other words the voices can't say. Let's hope that Apple fix this in the next major update of iOS.
Response
I noticed that it says it like two letter T's together, and sometimes it adds see or see' or sea, or the letter C, to the word "the" as well.
It says - wrong too

It's been happening for a while.

Very strange.

I don't care much for her,…
I don't care much for her, either. She grates on my eardrums!

Smelly
It also can't say smelly correctly, says "Shelly". I imagine any people named Shelly who hear that can be offended.
