Hey freelancing fam, I'm in desperate need of some financial sanity. You know the drill: clients pre-pay, send top-ups during projects, and sometimes even need the occasional refund. And tracking it all? Let's just say my Excel spreadsheet is weeping silent tears of frustration on my iPhone.
I'm on the hunt for a magical app that can handle the money mayhem:
• Record payments, withdrawals, and remaining balances with ease. No more squinting at formulas or wondering if that decimal point is in the right place.
• Give me a crystal-clear view of each project's finances. A quick glance should tell me who's paid what, how much is left, and if I'm undercharging (gulp!).
• Insights galore! I want to know my top-paying clients, project completion dates, and any potential red flags about underpricing. Basically, financial superpowers in an app.
• Bonus points: If this app integrates with my invoicing tools, time tracker, or even has built-in payment processing, I'll throw a virtual confetti parade!
Fellow freelancers, let's break free from spreadsheets and unite against financial chaos! Share your favorite client-payment apps in the comments. Together, we can build a tech oasis where Excel nightmares are just a distant memory.
So, ditch the piggy bank dreams and let's find the perfect app to handle our freelance finances like the money-managing rockstars we are! ✨

Sounds pretty great, someone should go out and make this.

I use GNU Cash on Linux and it's pretty terrible, with the usual caveats that I'm a bad person for hating on it because it was created by volunteers.

A lot of the features you are describing are covered by FreshBooks. It's not free -- I think the last time I paid for it it was like $180 for the year -- and it goes up if you have more than 5 clients. However, the accesibility of the app was great on iPhone and it allows you to do refunds, accept credit cards, sort expenses per client, etc.
