So you can sometimes get the audio from a TV station via the web. CNN is the best example:https://www.cnn.com/audio will take you to all its content.
If your goal is to listen to save bandwidth, you'll want to search the web for TV audio. OO Tunes used to have several TV audio only stations, but many no longer work, though you can still find a few in their station library.
But if your goal is to listen even if video also appears, try Pluto TV which has a huge raft of free programming and also local news from several large cities, including San Francisco, Chicago, Philladelphia, Boston and New York.
You can also type in the name of a station in to the app store, and get its app; some have Live TV and some do not. But the station's app is usually free, unlike the streaming services.
And yes, the channels app with the HD Homerun is wonderful and only requires your house intranet, and the description track is fully supported mixed in with the TV sound and video. Our HD Homerun has four inputs, two for cable and two for our antenna, so we get a lot of channels which is how I listen to TV at home without interfering with my sighted husband also watching other channels in another room.
Your best bet is to figure out what stations you want to hear, be sure you are connected to wi-fi unless you have unlimited cell data, and find those stations' apps in the app store. Or go online to the website for a station and look for a button labeled listen or watch live.
