Fitbit app

I just got a Fitbit One, and I'm running the Fitbit app on my iPhone 5S.
I thought I read somewhere I could see the battery status in the app, but can't find where. Can I do that?
Can I do things like update my weight or other data? I needed sighted help to put in my weight in the first place.
Any other Fitbit hints people might care to share?
Thanks.

I know that on the fitbit flex when you are flicking thru the main screen on the app there was a battery indicator. However with the new charge HR, the battery status is gone. There is a fix however. Since the fitbit using your phone's fitbit app, go to the fitbit dashboard website fitbit.com and log in using your login credentials. Then go to device settings, i think thats what it was. Under that, there should be a high, medium, low, very low, and empty, which indicates the battery state of charge.

1. Open the Fitbit app.
2. Flick right to the tracker which you have connected, in my case the charge HR.
3. Double tap on said tracker.
4. One flick right from the top of the screen should show you the status including battery – this works for the charge HR at least.

Displaying battery status in the app such that VO can read it appears to be a recent move on the part of the developer, hats off to them.

As the subject says, can anyone recommend a specific fitbit model? I don't care how it has to be worn but I would like it to be able to do a few things. Can one of them work with a rowing machine and count your rows? Other machines like a bike or elyptical? I assume most of them count steps and heartbeats?
I've been wondering about these for a while now, thanks for any assistance.

Thanks for the help seeing battery status. I selected my tracker on the app, and there the battery was.
I have the Fitbit One. It counts steps, distance travelled, calories burned, and floors climbed. It does not appear to count steps on the elliptical at the gym. It will track sleep, but I really don't see the point. It does not track heart rate. One of my co-workers has a Fitbit HR that tracks heart rate, but she doesn't feel it's very accurate.

Hi,
It also depends on how loose or tight you wear the charge HR. If the band is too tight, the LEDS on the bottom will have an easier time tracking the heart rate. If you wear it looser, then it might slip toward the hand or down the wrist. The charge HR tracks everything, heart rate, steps, floors, sleep, etc. They will work on bikes, or stair climbing machines. I'm not sure about elliptical machines however.

Hello,

You mentioned you wanted to keep track of your weight as well.

You can either manually enter it or get a wireless scale that can sync with your Fitbit app. Personally, I have the Withing wireless scale and it syncs with the Fitbit app automatically. I got the Withing scale because it has both wifi and BT vs. Fitbit's Aria which only has wifi.

Also, the fitbit app doesn't sync with the health app. If you want to sync Fitbit with the Health app, use an app called sync solver.

HTH and good luck.
