Facebook App Rant

Hey. I would like to rant about the Facebook app. First of all, when new updates come out, it doesn't tell you what's new. It just says, "Thanks for using Facebook," and other stuff. We have to learn about what's new in the app. Also, there is new bugs in the app. Still, I can't switch cameras before starting a livestream. It is stuck on rear camera active. If you have any comments, comment down below. There is a blind engineer working at Facebook. Come on!!!!!!!! Fix the app.

I think Facebook should tell you what they changed. They do the same thing with Messenger too and it annoys me!! This is something all devs should read. That's one of the reasons I love Weather Gods so darn much! He spells out LITTERALLY EVERYTHING that was changed in the app!

Hi. A lot of apps don't say what the update. Lift, Uber, messenger, Facebook, and a lot of others have generic updated information

I believe they should explain what they've updated, because to some people, it really does matter. Maybe to most people it doesn't, but to the geeks among us it does.

I hate when app developers do this, some do put notes in but a lot of them don't. To me it's just laziness.

First of all, I have to say that the only reason I bother with facebook at all is because of the app. The web site is way too cluttered for me. Yes, there's the mobile site, and I do use that sometimes, but in general, the app is the most convenient way to deal with FB. With that being said, though, a lot of things bother me about the app, most of which I freely admit are kind-a petty. I agree that that changes should be outlined when you download updates; generic update descriptions that just say something like bug fixes aren't particularly helpful. Something else fairly minor about FB that bothers me is their version numbering system. In most cases, I'd be willing to bet that their updates are quite minor. So, in an ordinary version numbering scheme like most developers use, they *might* be up to version 10, or something, if I'm being generous. I mean, Uber is still version 3.something.something else, and Lyft is version 4.something.something else. Same for Netflix and most other apps. So, why does each FB release have a full number version number? It just seems silly to me.

OK. Now that the fiddling annoyances are out of the way, here are the serious things that bother me about the Facebook app. My biggest complaint is with the app's size; it just keeps growing and growing, and if, in general, it's only meant to interface with the FB website, why does it need to be so huge? My other complaint is on a very similar note: especially given the size of both apps, why aren't the FB and messenger apps murged into a single app? Why must they be separate, almost equally huge apps, especially since there is a messenger button on pretty much every screen of the FB app? I think that these could, or at least should, be a single, much smaller app with sensible version numbers. Then again, I know absolutely nothing about app development, so maybe my ideas have no practical validity. I just saw a topic called Facebook App rant, and decided to throw my thoughts out there, for whatever they're worth.

I think that they are both to big. That doesn't even go in to how crazily confusing they can be. O. K. perhaps I am showing my age, but what is the reason that you have to fit so much stuff on a screen of a device or a web page. Talk about cluttering up my day.

There are a lot of things that I feel that they need to fix. As far as them not putting notes in the updates, I don't really care. However, it would be nice if they would announce major updates. For example, if they have fixed something major or Have implemented new features.

Personally, I'd like to see them tell us what bugs they've fixed in updates. And yes, the app sizes are huge. If I had to guess why, it's probably because of all those stickers and stuff. But I dunno. In any event it's blah. And it would be nice if fb and messenger could be combined into one app, but I doubt it'll ever happen.

My guess is that the fixes and updates in each release are so numerous that it's not practical to list all of them out. Still, they should at least highlight the most significant ones or link to a page where updates are spelled out

I haven't been able to post a live video successfully from fb. Hopefully they will fix this accessibility issue and yes the fb ap is way too big. I really couldn't care less about the cutesy themes or whatever that comes with it like gif picker and all of that. It would be nice if you could disable that so it doesn't appear in the choices when swiping to the post button.
