hey everyone, like I stated last night in my photos with voiceover question I got my iphone xr on friday march 1, and I got my face id set up for apple pay. my question is can you all give me some tips on how to unlock my phone with my face every time successfully with out it saying try again, especially when I go to atm's to get money or use it with apple pay in a store/ I've used this in the app store, and it's a bit tricky, but I'm slowly getting use to it and like it over the fingerprint tech apple had in the other phones. it just seems faster for unlocking the phone. also, what's the best way to unlock the phone with your face when your laying down and want to look at a notification on your lock screen?

I can answer part of your question
To look at a notification on the lock screen, you'll need to hit the unlock button and then glance at your phone until it recognizes your face. from there, you can find the notifications on the lock screen. There is also a way to set it so that Face ID does not require you to look directly at the camera with your eyes wide open. I can't remember where exactly the setting is, but once you disable that, it will make unlocking your phone much easier.
Attention Mode
Hi. In the face ID settings there is a setting called attention mode. If you turn this off you don't need to look directly at the phone in order for face ID to work. It took me some time to get used to face ID burt it can be done with voiceover. You have to use face ID to unlock the phone when viewing notifications.
face id.
Hi, I don't know if the fact that I am totally blind is causing my problem? But, I cannot set up face id. on my iPhone xr.! I try to follow the instructions, and can feel the vibration when it takes a image. But after a while it tells me "face id. not available".
No issues here. I'm a total
No issues here. I'm a total as well, and I st it up in about 2 minutes I just followed the prompts and it worked as expected. Don't ask me how to set it upas I now cannot remember.
FaceID
It took me 2 times in order to setup. It was more of an understanding it’s setup process. Pretty painless. No sighted assistance needed.
I’m totally blind and find very few times that FaceID hasn’t worked for me. I have found lighting can have some baring on success. Not something I use much at home. For me, I also find better results when holding phone farther from face.
