episode description in new podcasts app

Hi all,
Okay, I really don't like the new podcasts app, but all my podcasts are there and I'm not sure I want to switch. The problem is, since iOS14, VoiceOver no longer reads the episode descriptions on the listen screen. This wasn't a huge deal as I could swipe down and the more info action would bring me to the episode description. When this quit working, I could still use the option in the library. Now with the redesign though, I can't seem to find episode descriptions anywhere. How do I find these again?

This threw me off at first, and still catches me out sometimes, but to get to the episode descriptions now, you double tap the episode title. This action used to play the episode, but now each episode has a separate play button for that.
