Hi all! I may be in the minority here but I am really sick of emojis all the time. I get an email and it says smiling face, licking lips and more. then there is this other thing that sounds like graphing joiner which repeats over and over. I talked to apple accessibility and they recommended turning off images and supposedly this will make it stop. It did to a point but I'm still getting them. These emojis are everywhere and if somebody has any ideas on how to filter them out I'd appreciate it. I've tried turning punctuation to none, turning off images and I'm not sure what else to do. I actually don't care about them and if I never had to hear another one I'd be happy. Thanks for any help.

verbosity is your friend here
hi Jim,
go to settings>accessibility>VoiceOver>verbosity. there are two setting you need to turn off. they are speak emoji, and speak emoji suffix. with these off, you will never here emojis. I don't know why these settings are not on macOS, they should be!
regards,
Daniel
Well, that sort of workedHi Daniel! That workeed but I am still
Daniel, that sort of worked but I am still getting that thing that sounds like graphing jooiner. Not sure what that is but it is better. I actually thought I had those turned off but thanks for the recommendation.

I‘m getting Grafeen joiner, too
hi Jim,
I get grafeen joiner as well, in emails from Starbucks, as I have the app, and a local Starbucks location in my town. I do not know of a way to turn that announcement off. it seems to be mist prevalent with the Alex voice. I’m beta testing iOS 16, so I have other options. can only discuss the beta in the Apple Beta releases forum on here though, and you posted to the forum which is generally used, but beta topics are not permitted. if you want to discuss this ferther on here, post to the Apple beta releases forum, and I’ll be happy to troubleshoot ferther with this issue.
here's what may help with images... somewhat
Ok. So, here's what may help with images somewhat at least. It did for me, and while I still hear image sometimes, it's made it... better. So, go to settings, mail, and look around until you see something called load all images, and turn it off. I can't recall where this is exactly, because, it's been a few years since I changed it, and it's one of those settings that once you set it, you can and do forget about it. :-) If anyone can help and refresh my memory on where this setting is exactly, please do. I hope this helps! :-)
