Efficient VoiceOver gestures for Call Waiting & Issue with disconnected calls on iPhone 17 (iOS 26)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice regarding call management using VoiceOver on iPhone 17 running the latest iOS version.

1. Managing Call Waiting with VoiceOver
When I’m currently on an active call and a second call comes in, navigating the screen to find the "Hold & Accept" or "End & Accept" buttons takes a lot of swiping and valuable time. Is there a faster gesture, shortcut, or custom VoiceOver command/magic tap action to directly answer an incoming call waiting without having to swipe through all the on-screen controls?

2. Automatic Call Disconnection When Put on Hold
Recently, I’ve been experiencing an annoying issue: whenever I am talking to someone and they put me on hold (for instance, to take another call on their end), my iPhone completely drops/disconnects the call after just a few seconds. I end up having to redial them or wait for them to call me back, even though they never intentionally hung up on me.

Is this a known iOS bug, a carrier-related setting, or an accessibility issue? Has anyone encountered this before, and is there a fix or workaround for it?

Thanks in advance for your help and insights!

Such disconnects are usually network issues. As for the end and accept button, it will be very close to the bottom right of the screen.

Hi, no that maybe a feature you have turned on. Not sure if it is in just iOS27 but you can now turn on or off a feature that lets you leave your phone and do other stuff whilst on hold and then it calls you back when your back live. Can't remember where it is however. So maybe you have it turned on hence it hangs up thinking you want a call back.

AM still on ios 26, and i can not find this feature.
Even the Hold assist is not here, i think it is not available in my country.
let's see if even teh call context will be visible or not.
