Drafts actions

Hello all,
I am wanting to create an action in drafts that will take a note and appendit it to a text file with a time and date stamp. Is this possible and if so how would I go about doing this? I am wanting to basically create my own glucose log book. I have tried quite a few of the ones available but I find them either to simple or way to complicated with too many features.

Thanks,

Well it's a bit hard to answer this one without a bit more detail.

Where do you need the text file to go? Dropbox, iCloud or somewhere else? How often do you want it to start a new file? Weekly, monthly, never? Even what format the date and/or time can be changed.

But anyway a good start is probably to create a new action yourself. Go to new action and give it a name like log or something. Go down to steps and add one. Go down to services and you'll find iCloud and Dropbox and some others. Choose one of those. Then in this screen give your log a name. Choose append and then go down to contents. This is a bit tricky but you should be able to use what Drafts calls tags to write out your log. You should be able to double tap on date, time and draft, putting in spaces and blank lines to make it look the way you need it to.

I don't know if this was any help but feel free to throw me any more questions.

Hello,
I will want it in either dropbox or one drive. I would want it to look something like this:
Date Time
Sugar is
I took x amount of insulin
I ate such and such

What got me interested in this was I was watching a podcast where they had the developer and a power user of drafts on. It was the Vector podcast. The developer had mentioned he had users of the app tell him they used it for a log book for their diabetes. I would probably use it for a year and then start a new file.

If you want to save your information in Evernote, I believe an action in Drafts for doing this already exists. This might make for a good starting point.

Well that should be a pretty easy action to make for yourself. Maybe give it a try with the rough instructions i put in the reply above and ask questions if you get stuck.

Hello,
I am having trouble setting up the action. I created a file in my One Drive called diabeticLog2018. I have the action set up to append to this file. I think the error is coming up because I am not sure what to put in the path field. What goes in this field. My file is in my documents folder on my One Drive.

Hello,
It says something about error 3840 and something about allowing fragments not set. I may have to delete the action and start over. I am thinking it might have to do with the tags.

Hello all,
I was finally able to get my action to work. To make a long story short, there was profiled text in some of the edit boxes that Voiceover was not reading when I moved to the field. For example there was the tag for the date in the file name field. Once I figured this out and removed the profiled tags I was able to get it to work.
