double characters being entered with BT keyboard

I'm using 8.1 on a 4 S after hearing that keyboard bug was supposedly fixed. Well, now we've a new bug, at least I have this bug. I tried this in notes, and found I was typing double characters even though, when I read it back letter by letter with quicknav off, it would appear as single letters I'm typing. But, when reading it back with quicknav on, the letters are doubled.
I tride doing a search in the App Store and am not able to type in accurately what I'm searching for because of the double character situation. Anyone else ggetting this?
I also tried changing the typing mode thinking that might help, even though I am using a BT keyboard to do this. No go.
Any other ideas?

It was very intermittent, but the bug you describe occurred to me a couple of times under iOS 8.0 and 8.0.2, so it isn't new in 8.1. When I had it happen, rebooting my iPad fixed the issue. I think what's happening is that both VoiceOver and the main system are responding to each keystroke, causing each key to register twice.

Near as I can tell, the only thing that was fixed with Bluetooth keyboards was VoiceOver-specific commands, especially those involving the Control and Option keys, but that issue was also fixable by the user with a trick involving changing between keyboard languages with Command-Space, as was posted here shortly after iOS 8 first came out. There are other VoiceOver issues with Bluetooth keyboards which that trick did not address, and iOS 8.1 does not appear to address them either.

I've been using IOS8.3 on my iPhone since it came out and had no problems with my Bluetooth keyboard. All of a sudden for no apparent reason every character I type comes out double. Rebooting my iPhone fixes it for a little while but then it starts up again. It happens with both my Amazon Basics and Apple keyboards. It may be a coincidence but I started using Twitterific5 around the same time, or it may be some other update or something else entirely. Is anyone else having this issue with IOS8.3?

I've been experiencing this doubling of characters on my iPhone 6 running 8.4 with the Microsoft 6000 BT keyboard. Actually, this began happening *after* power-cycling my phone. Are there any other solutions to this problem?

Hello,
When you see this happen use a tripple click home to turn VoiceOver off and then on again. This should fix the issue for a while. From my experience the double characters will return but turning off VoiceOver and on again correct it again. It is annoying but it does not take to long to do the tripple click home. Hope this helps.
