disk mode on Ipod Touch 5.

Hello I was wondering are there any apps or software where I can somehow get the ipod touch 5 G in to disk mode so I can transfer and or copy files to or from the PC in USB mode so I can manage files a lot easier. Cause what I would like to do is hook up the Itouch to my pc and do it that way instead the wi-fi way. I want to be in control of my stuff and I can do with out the file sharing stuff. Is anyone using anything to make this happen? I have not bought te Ipod Touch yet, but would love to it sounds awesome since I do use Itunes mainly on the PC for radio and music.

You don't have to use wifi in order to transfer files to your iDevice. You can connect to the device to your computer with the cable. However, iDevices do not allow for a "disk mode". In order to transfer files to your device, you will have to use iTunes.

According to this web site, http://iphonefolders.com/, you can indeed run your iDevice with windows explorer. I have not tried this yet, so any feedback using this would be appreciated. I just found it.

iPhone Folders is a Windows Explorer extension that allows you to browse contents of your iPhone or iPod Touch like a regular removable drive. After installation you'll find it in My Computer folder. Using this extension you can browse your phone filesystem, copy files to and from it, open files directly from iPhone, create shortcuts to folders on iPhone. In thumbnail mode program will display previews of png and jpg files on phone, application icons for installed applications (.app folders). Compatible with x86 editions of Windows XP, Vista, 7 and x64 editions of Windows XP, Vista (unlike Vista, Windows 7 x64 can't be forced to execute Windows Explorer in 32bit mode, so no Win7 x64 support for now). Requires iTunes 8 or 9 for normal operation. Supports jailbroken and non-jailbroken phones (in the later case filesystem access is limited to Media folder).To be able to browse full filesystem content on blackra1n jailbroken phones don't forget to install afc2add from Cydia. This iphonefolders sounds great I went to the website and downloaded it all ready. I don't have the ipod touch yet, but next month will be my birthday and can't wait to get it It should be interesting to check it out. I am mainly going to use it for books, podcasts, music, and movies, also text documents. It sure would be nice if accessnote could have this functionality. Dropbox am not in to. I am not interested in storing stuff in the cloud. I would like to be in control of my stuff. Have been on this site for quite a while great content. Thanks for the help.
