The difference between “bookmarks” & “favorites in Safari?

Hello Everyone,
I'm a long-time iPhone user, with a curious question.
I've been using the iPhone and other Apple products since I got my very first iPhone 10 years ago!
My question, which I've never been able to figure out until now, is, "What's the difference between "bookmarks and favorites" in Safari?
Or, is there a difference at all?

Thanks in advance for any information anyone can provide.
I was trying to organize my list, which is what prompted this question. I don't know why, I never asked this sooner.

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think there's a substantive difference between the two. I think "Favorites" refers to a subset of "Bookmarks," similar to the difference between favorites and contacts in the phone app.

Hi.

The difference is that a bookmark is an address, or if you prefer, a book. Favorites is a category in your address book, like friends category, or family category, and therefor a place to put your address, or if you prefer, a shelf where you can put your book, such as the shelf you've saved for your favorite books.

Did that help?

You can create new categories/shelves for your addresses/books, and you can create new addresses/books.

Another way to think of it is that a bookmark is a bookmark. Which chapter will you put it in? The chapter dealing with your favorites, or a different chapter? smile

Joy!
