deleting contacts on a iPhone

Hi. I feel really embarrassed about asking this question. But I'm trying to delete a contact on my iPhone. I selected the edit contact button, but I couldn't find the button that says delete contact. Does anyone know where that button may be?
I hardly ever have to delete contacts, so maybe I'm doing something wrong?

If anyone has just read this post don't bother responding. I found the delete contact button. I guess you could say I had a blind moment... it was right there. Wow.
