I am converting from a mac to an Ipad with a key board. Does anyone know of a tutorial to explain how to copy and paste text, either using the keyboard or hand gestures?
Thanks.

First select characters, words or lines by using the rotor. Then pinch the screen outwards with two fingers to select the text you want. Finally select changes using the rotor and flick down with one finger until the copy option is announced and then select it.
You can assign a gesture for the final step in order to avoid using the rotor again.
To paste, either assign a gesture for pasting, or use the rotor and select the copy option from the aforementioned changes submenu. I might add that before pasting you must first select the edit box in which you want to paste your text.
Note that to unselect text, you must pinch the screen inwards with two fingers. I mentioned this because when selecting text, you might select more than you want, because it seems to me that the pinch in or out gesture, has some sensitivity built into it. I.e. the wider you pinch the more text is selected or unselected.

I didn’t know about the pinching and pulling. Thanks, I’ll give it a go.

For more controlled selection, in the rotor, there is an option called "Text Selection." If you switch to this option, flicking up and down will cycle through characters, words, lines, etc. Flicking right will select the next of which ever of these you have chosen. Flicking left will unselect it, or I think will select backward, if nothing is yet selected.
You then change the rotor to the "Edit" option, and flick up and down to cycle through your copy/paste, etc options. Then double-tap when it is on the function you want.
As for the keyboard, the shift and option with the right/left arrow keys selects words. The shift alone with right/left arrow keys selects characters. I think the shift with up/down selects lines, but you might have to test it. Copy and paste are command C and command V.
I'm sorry if all that sounds confusing, but the whole process is complicated with gestures.
* I thought of one more thing. If you tap four times with three fingers, Voice Over will copy the last spoken text to the clipboard. So if you set your rotor to word, flick right or left, then do the three-finger quadruple tap it will copy the word it just spoke. Then you can go through the edit option in the rotor to paste it somewhere. It doesn't seem to have to finish speaking before you do the copy gesture, so you can, for example, do a two-finger swipe down to read a page, and you don't have to listen to it all.

I go to select text, and choose words, etc. From there one flick right selects and a flick left deselects. Then it’s command C When I arrive where I want to paste it’s command V. This is cool. Thanks
