Concerns Regarding How Apple Is Rejecting Flicktype App Updates

The situation with the Flicktype developer reminds me of what we recently went through with how Apple was dealing with Blindfold Games. The developer's message about this can be found at the below link. I believe this may require some polite but firm advocacy on the part of Flicktype users who value this useful and unique app. https://flicktype.groups.io/g/hello/topic/upcoming_pricing_changes/28272182

Flick Type Pricing: Get Out The Pitchforks and Torches

Sorry, but the pitchforks and torches are not intended for Apple. You will want them for me. I agree with Apple on this one. First off, I use Flick Type, and currently have a monthly subscription. I enjoy the app and use it frequently. I have no intention of abandoning it, unless it gets overly priced and then I will drop it.

I believe that this app is no different from a majority of the apps sold in the App Store. It is a product, developed and released to the public. I understand it is a specialty app for the blind, and the developers want to make money. I also I should be expected to pay for a product or service. I will pay for this app for about 20 months. At that point I will most likely stop. It is a great app, but not worth more than $20. It also does not warrant a monthly subscription. I have purchased many apps outright, because I enjoy and use them as the products they are. I would not pay a monthly subscription for Silversword, Overcast, or Battle Arena. Flick Type is no different.

The developers are appreciated because of the work they have put into the creation of the app. Because they made it for the blind, in my opinion, does not afford them the privilege of charging more or using the subscription model to make more money than other developers would with another app.

You act like devs are rich people? First off no dev is making tons of money. Secondly no app for the blind ever can live off what they get because were such a small population. I hope they win why is Apple dictating how I spend my money if I want to give a monthly subscription to a dev than I should be able to do so. By the way guys have you ever thought about devoliping on Android? I recently changed over on the phone side and we would welcome you.

I would much rather purchase the super duper expensive knfb reader, than any other subscription based app. At least it is a one time purchase.

I recently downloaded the free trial of FlickType, and subscribed to their group. The app seems pretty cool, but I might not be able to afford the starting price. Due to circumstances which I will not get into on here, I don't currently control most of my finances. But that may be changing here in a bit. I think I'm with the FlickType devs on this one but honestly haven't thought much about this yet. I think this is largely why I only have free 3rd-party apps on my phone at least for now. But then again, I haven't had time to play around with the rotor and all the options for typing on the phone.

I agree with post one and apple on this. I refuse to use this app because I think the devs are being totally unfair charging the blind community just to use a keyboard.
