Hello everybody, I am having a little trouble trying to get Alex back on my iPad Pro. I am a little skittish about resetting my device because I do not have the money to pay for the iCloud subscription. I have tried restarting, changing the voices of both VoiceOver and spoken content but now, I can't get Alex back on either the voiceover or the spoken content voices. My iPad is a six generation iPad Pro with the capacity of 32 gigs. When I select it, it doesn't do anything no matter what gesture I try. it doesn't even show up as a button. I took it off along time ago to try to relieve some space. But now It shows up, but I can't do anything with it. I can get Fred at Victoria, but not Alex. If there is any alternative method that I can try without having to reset everything, please let me know? thank you.

have you tried turning voiceover off then on again?
It worked for me a long time ago on my IPhone.
tried it
Yeah. I have done that several times and still no luck. I can use any other voices, but Alex won't do anything. It shows up in the list of voices, but it doesn't say the amount of space it takes up and it doesn't even give me the option to download it.
My guess is that you've run…
My guess is that you've run out of space. Alex takes a lot of space, 869 megs.
I have two gigs
I have over 32 gigs. My space is now down to two gigs. It doesn't show up as a button or allow me to do anything with it when I click on it. It doesn't even give me the option to download it or erase it or anything.
Can't Get Alex Back
I would check with Apple Accessibility about this. My guess is that if you only have two gigabytes of storage remaining, there is probably a built-in safegurd which is preventing you from getting Alex. Another thing to try is to add U.S. English as a language and figure out if you can select Alex for it.
I had up to 5 gigs
Well, I had 5 gigs left at one point and still couldn't get it back. My default language is US English.
Why don't you want to reset your IPad?
What does iCloud have to do with it?
I'd recommend calling apple accessibility, they may say you have to reset your IPad though.
Back ups
I would reset it, but like I said before, I would have to back up everything to iCloud but I don't have the money to pay for 250 gigs of space. As of right now, I have so much stuff on my device, that I can't properly back it up to iCloud to restore once I get it reset
You didn't mention the backup part in your first post as far as.
I'd recommend calling the accessibility number then and seeing what can be done.
If you have a computer could you transfer the stuff to it and then send it back to your IPad?
I don't know how to do it as I don't use my IPhone for music and things like that.
No working PC
Unfortunately I don't have a working PC. If I did, then I would back it up to that.
