Can’t able to read Indian regional languages in iOS 18.0.1

I am eagerly waiting to read all my Indian languages apart from Hindi with auto language feature, but it is not happening. I’m really dissatisfied with Apple and this part. Do consider our request because apart from Hindi, no other languages automatically detected, so this has been a huge problem since long years, hope Apple rectify very soon.

Do we even have punjabi as an option? Punjabi is everything but present in any imaginable tts you could think of, except maybe experimental piper tts and espeak, but both are not even close to a real thing. Outside of auto switching context I mean.

If you're using espeak, you can read almost all indian languages, but since updating to IOS 18, I'm facing issues with espeak, like it mis-pronouncing characters etc. It's frustrating to say the least.

But espeak on mac apple silicon or ios is no way near the quality of the espeak ng in other linux distros or yet nvda itself.

At least five times I reported this bug to Apple, but I didn’t got any satisfactory responses from them. They’re improving voice over functionality but they are not adding automatic switching in Indian regional languages. At present I am using speak for this but this is not a proper solution. Because if you select you speak as our primary language using the activities. Image descriptions and other voice of features are not working. This is really a serious concern but I’m not sure why Apple is not focusing on this issue.
