Hello all,
I'm by means no expert but thanks to all the great people here at Applevis, I have become quite knowledgeable about the use of an iPhone/iPad. I have been using an iPhone,iPad for about 4 years now, currently I'm using an iPhone 6s and an iPad mini 4 both have iOS 9.2 installed in German which brings me to my topic, can bugs be language specific?
I quickly learned that not all functions or apps are made available in all countries alike, for example the news app or apple pay. In my personal observation over the years I have noticed such behavior with voicover as well. For example, when using the handwriting feature when it launched it was not possible to make certain letters that are used in the german language like ä,ö or ü. I believe that it wasn't until 8.4 or 9.0 that it was finally possible using the change gestures. The same applies to braille screen input. One can make german letters just fine or navigate through the home screen using braille screen input, but to this day it's not possible to efficiently navigate through safari using braille screen input. What happens is this, one can type the letter "l" and then jump by links, sometimes it works. If it does work it will only work once or twice and it is not possible to change from "links" to "headings" regardless of what gestures are done. Most of the time it will not even accept the letter typed with VoiceOver saying letter not recognized. I have reported these problems to apple.
So here is my question, can bugs be language specific and if so should these be posted here on Applevis? I understand that this site is mainly for the English speaking world, but I would like to add that this, in my opinion, here in germany trying to get solid an useful information is hard to get. There is no better source than Applevis, thanks to all. Happy holidays to all, Fritz

Language specific bugs
There can definitely be bugs only specific to certain languages. Just the text to speech itself can be quite problematic on occasion as apple tends to write custom rules to make pronunciation of some things better that can sometimes cause other things to break. I know the Dutch voices had problems reading websites and E-mail addresses and there was quite an outcry with the new Arabic voice for a while. The Polish one also had some serious problems completely mispronouncing most accented characters which took a few versions to fix. I also believe that you still can't write accented Polish characters using handwriting, but I don't use this feature personally. What is definitely a language specific bug is that the find feature on the mac, VO-F, refuses to accept accented Polish characters, probably because the Polish keyboard layout uses the option key combined with various letters to get the accents. I have reported this multiple times during the Yosemite and El capitan betas and so far it's still a problem.
