Hello all, this may sound like an interesting request, but I would be very grateful for anyone's help! When using the camera in IOS 7, I notice that VO no longer assists you to focus the image of faces or objects. Has anyone else had this issue? I took advantage of this feature in iOS 6, and hoped that it would be included in 7.3, which is what I am currently using on my iPhone 5 S. Is there a setting that I should enable to bring this feature back? Thank you for any advice!

Using 7.04 with my screen on,brightness to about 40/50% and aiming the camra right always tells me the usual big face, small face, centered and so on. You may want to update your IOS version, turn your screen on,have the brightness to auto or a specific level and then try it again. hth

sometimes I face this issute but there is no actual reason, just be sure that the camera is directed well to the faces You wanna take photo of, You can ask any sighted assistant to help You direct the camera, but I dun't believe that iOS 7.3 is the problem, You can also check the photos in Your iPhone, sometimes the VO says the discription of them; It says "well lead" or "2 or 3 faces" etc.

hi, note, this appears to happen on the 5C / 5S. but on the iPhone 5 and down, it seems to still work. so what version of the iPhone do you have? also, it will only function if you are actually in the camera app, and not in a version of the camera from another app. so as an example, open the camera app manually, and test it. but if you opened it from, say, skype, it would not work.

Hi Guys Do remember the thread VoiceOver issues on iPhone 5S This bug is nothing to do with iOS version This is a particular boiceOver bug presented on 5S The previous comments they still are able to use this voiceOver feature because use other iPhone version not matter what iOS 7 is running iPhone 4S iPhone 5 Both devices using the camera and voiceOver enable runing iOS 5, 6 or 7 announce auto focus Number of faces And more details as small face, I'm not sure if the iPhone 5C has confirmed this voiceOver bug using the camera Unfortunately there not way how to fix that, not updating iOS not settings nothing Just wait until apple release a new iOS update.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. I am using an iPhone 5 S. I followed the instructions provided by the first poster and they worked to an extent. I tried to take a photo at night without VO telling me anything about what it was detecting. I tried later on in the day, got significantly better results. Now, could someone please clarify how I know if the cameras lens 'is properly centred when photographing objects? This may be an entirely silly question, but does VO recognize objects as faces in order to position the camera lens accurately? Thanks again!

Actually, I have a 5S running 7.04 and I can get the face recognition to work. I think it does have to do with the brightness and such. However, it could be version specific. Also, I have noticed that even where there is a bug, not every phone experiences it, even though it has the same version running.

That is probably what it is trying to do.
