I am looking for a calendar app that will allow me to share my calendar with my wife and see her appointments as well. At times I want to be able to schedule appointments for both of us and I want her to be able to schedule appointments for me and for both of us as well. I need the calendar app to be accessible for me and user friendly for my sighted wife. We work together in a few businesses and keeping calendars synched is becoming very important. Perhaps an app that worked well with a Google Calendar. All suggestions are welcomed.

the iOS Calendar App will do it
The default Calendar app on iOS will do what you want. I use it with my family quite often, and we can do exactly what you asked about. Open it, find and activate the Calendars button, hit the Add button, name your calendar, then find the section on sharing. There should be a place to add invitees; enter your wife's Apple ID email address, then send it. She should get a notification that she has been invited to the calendar; once she accepts, you both can modify it. You can even use this to give people read-only access, if you wanted to, letting your kids or a housekeeper see when you have things scheduled, but not letting them edit anything.

I also use the Apple Calendar app on my iPhone to share the Family calendar with my wife. She also has an iPhone. In addition, we both have Windows PC's and can sync between Windows and iOS devices by running Code2Sync on our PC's as a plug-in in Outlook. --Pete
