I often use Siri to get a list of my appointments.

I had the same initial reaction as Jason until, out of desperation, I tapped the search button. And there it was, the list view. What a relief!

I, too, am dismayed by the calendar. I really, really miss the list view. I gave the previous suggestion to someone and when we double-tapped the search button, it brought the calendar to September, 2012. So, this is a deal breaker for me not to upgrade my iPod Touch that I use at work, whose calendar I live and die by! I do think one stop-gap is to ask Siri what my appointments are for the day so that I can actually read them in a list on the screen without wading through all the blank hours.

Has anyone successfully been able to use the calendar yet? When I ask what my appointments are I just get the answer that I have an appointment on X date and no title is spoken or shown on the screen. This would be fine, except that I have a shared calendar and need to know the names and times for the appointments that other people put on it. It would also be helpful to be able to browse through the things currently on my calendar so that I can schedule other things in my free time. When I select the list button I still see that ihave no events on any days. I also tried hitting the search button, but since I don't know exactly the titles of what I am searching for, then I just have a keyboard and no list of events. Maybe there is a setting that is off somewhere? If this doesn't start working for me I need to know of other devices that are not Apple related that people have successfully used shared gmail calendars on since if this is a bug I will be finding another device to meet my needs.

Hi, One possible work around: 1. bring up the list of months. 2. Select current month (or another month where you know you have an event). 3. You should then have a month screen with all the days showing. Before selecting a day with an event on it, if the list button is shown as selected, unselect it with a double tap. 4. Having done that, Swipe through until you find a day where an event should show. For example, it might say Friday 11th April, 1 event, then double tap on that day. 5. All events that you have on the calendar should then show up on the next screen. If the list button is selected on the month screen, tapping on an event doesn't work. Hope this helps.

My advice is to forget work-arounds and the Apple Calendar app altogether. Fantastical 2 is, well as the name suggests, fantastic. It really is. It syncs in real time with the iOS Calendar and Reminders apps, so you can create events in Calendar, Fantastical, Siri etc., and they will appear in the list in Fantastical. Creating events in Fantastical is great too. You can just enter a sentence like, "Meeting with John at the office at 2pm on Friday", and it will auto-populate all of the fields. It of course works with Google calendar etc. too. It just gives you a simple to navigate list of all your events, and it's simple to move to a specific date too. It's good for low vision folks too as it's white on black, very high contrast. I have heard good things about VO Calendar that Mark mentioned above too.
