I just upgraded my iPhone 4s to IOS 9.0.1 and can no linger retrieve new or past events. I tried adding a new event and that went ok. I then tried to review the event by tapping on the day and nothing happens. I cannot see any of my events except for a "dot" on the day indicating there is something there. Any ideas?

VO obviously can't read events, so I use Siri
Hi! I have the same problem in IOS 9 on my iPhone 6, namely that once I've entered an event into the IOS Calendar I can't read it, apart from VoiceOver saying "1 event" on the date it was put in. As I've only just started using the Calendar app on my iPhone, I don't know whether this problem reading events with Voiceover is new to IOS 9 or has been a problem before that. I get around the problem by asking Siri to check if i have any events on the current day or on whatever other date i give. Obviously, it would be better to be able to read the events within the calendar using VoiceOver, but while that doesn't seem to be possible, using Siri is a good workaround, for me anyway.
"Use the rotor to access events."
On my iPhone 5S running IOS 9.1, when I navigate through the calendar and double-tap to list a particular day, VO announces "Use the rotor to access events," and I am then able to perform a one finger swipe up or down to hear and move through the events for that day.
Perhaps there was a bug in IOS 9.01.

Same bug in IOS 9.1
I have the same bug in IOS 9.1, finding Events in the rotor but getting nothing when I flick up and down with my focus on that rotor item. I'm not sure what went wrong there, with VO not reading events as it should, but at least i've found a workaround, using Siri to check event details, as explained in my previous post!
interesting
when you tap on a date, the date is highlighted, the events show in the lower part of the calendar, tap on he specific event to view detail. it's been this way since at least iOS 7.
Thanks for that tip, and something useful I found
Many thanks for that tip: as i mentioned before, irm an IOS Calendar newbie, learning it as I go along, so maybe i didn't explore the screen enough. One thing I can say, though, is that, when my lock screen shows a reminder before an event, double-tapping that notification opens a screen with the details of the event all readable by VoiceOver, so that's definitely a good thing.
