Breaking News App Alternatives

Hello to all. As those of you who used the app know, the Breaking News Plus app from NBC was discontinued at the end of 2016. My question is this. What is another news app to get notifications of breaking news? Ahy suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Hi there Sockhopsinger, I just use the News app on the phone. You can choose which sources you want to receive notifications from. For example: I have chosen Fox News and CNN but there are lots of others.

Hi,
I use the app called breaking, don't know who develops it, it's not NBC. It's got loads of the news sources, like fox news, CBS,ABC, sky news, sports etc.

Are you sure? Cause they specifically said that the app was going to stop working at the beginning of this year. Is it possible we're talking about a different app with the same name?

That could be. the breaking news app I have is by a developer called Vijay Anand or something like that. Do a search on the app store if you don't have that app.

I would like to apologize. Yes I'm using the Breaking News by the developer that is mentioned in this thread. I also read the article that is referenced in the original post and I thought it discussed the one I am using. Have a good day!

There are no apologies needed! After all, when two apps have the same name, it's no surprise that there is some confusion.

I find the apps for my local area work great with breaking news notifications. You can also get them from apps for the Guardian, The Associated Press, AJ+, Al Jazeera, and others.
