Hello everyone. Happy new year. I was just wondering, are there any good GPS apps specificly for walking to a destination? say for example, a friend's house is within walking distance of my house. Is there an app that could tell me how to get there. If at all possible, I need one that you don't have to pay for or create an account for.

I believe you can configure maps to do so. You put the address where you want to go, select how you getting, be it bus, walking or car.

Lately I have had some luck with microsoft sound scape. You can create a route before you leave for your adventure. Also it is particularly useful off road.

careful out there.

OK, I have the soundscape app installed. And I'm actually going to try and test it this afternoon. How exactly do I create a route to someone's house?

What kind of headphones work best for things like soundscape where you have to still hear what's around while you walk? I have several of these apps installed, but I need tips for navigating while holding a phone safely. Thank you for any suggestions. Also does anyone find these help at all in winter? I'll explore more once the weather warms a bit but now is a good time to fiddle around and see what works.

I personally use one AirPod (AirPods three, not the pro version) I find that wearing one of those is a good balance because it doesn’t have noise canceling and it doesn’t go too deep into your ear
