I have an Iphone 14 pro with IOS16.1.1 installed. In Settings, If I select accessability>voiceover>audio>auto select speaker in call it should automatically route audio to the main speaker when I move the phone away from my ear during a phone call, and automatically route the audio to the earpiece when I hold the phone next to my ear, but this does not work - the sound continues to come from the earpiece. Is this a bug, or do I need to change another setting? I have settings>accessability>touch>call audio routing set to Automatic. This feature worked on my old Iphone6S It was useful in situations where I was on an automated call answering system where I had to select a number of options by pressing a key on the keypad.whereas now, if I hold the phone away from my ear in order to press a key, I can hardly hear the sound from the earpiece, and have great difficulty in locating the key I need to press, and more often than not, the answering system has timed out before I locate the required key. I don't wish to have the speaker enabled all the time as other people will be able to overhear my call. Is there a workaround?

Not a bug
Sorry, but I don't know what's going on with your device.
This works as it has always done on my iPhone XR running iOS 16.1.1.
When I remove the phone from my ear it automatically switches to speaker and back to earpiece when I move the phone to my ear again.
