Apple Intelligence and Siri AI

The 12GB that you keep hearing about is not for Siri AI, but for the more "human" expressive Siri voices. It is also needed for better dictation. There may be other features that require that much memory that we don't know about yet.
Those features will only work on last year's pro models and this year's phones.

My understanding is that any phone that now has Apple Intelligence features will get Siri AI with iOS 27 coming out very soon now.

I have the same phone as my secondary device. Yeah that phone does not have any Apple Intelligence capability. That also means we don’t get any of the new voices or any of it or any Apple Intelligence at all. I mean if you’re somebody who really cares about that then I would probably think about upgrading your phone But I mean if you don’t and you feel like you can get a little bit more use out of that phone then maybe you could it just depends what your needs are. I’m keeping mine but mine is more of a media consumption device so basically it’s my iPod that I never got a chance to get. My primary my phone is a based on iPhone 15, which is also not Apple Intelligence capable. But I knew that when I bought it. I just don’t feel like there’s Enough new features going on with it yet for me to be too excited about it so I just never got a phone with all the new features in it. I think it needs a few more years to be really useful for us I think. It also just wasn’t anything that I found interesting enough to do getting a newer model phone over. And look I guess this is a crazy reason but I also want one regular iPhone 15 because it still had a regular mute switch. I really don’t like the idea of having an action button. I know I’m going to have to get used to it once I get the phone like that but I figured I’d hold onto buttons and switches and things like that for as long as I can I mean like a home button. That’s the other reason that I kept my iPhone SE 2022 because it’s the last device of the home button. So basically right now I have the last device with a home button in the last device with a switch. Will know 15+ does have a switch too, but I didn’t want anything any bigger than the 15. I don’t really need a bigger screen at all. I have small hands and I’ve been totally blind since birth. Heck I mean if Apple was going to keep the same form factor of the SE phone I would’ve just kept that as my regular phone and just kept using that, but I ended up getting a 15 in order to trade in my iPad mini so that was one of the reasons and also because I really wanted it while I was still another phone to meet switch on it. I figured it wouldn’t be available too much longer so I had to grab it. I actually got it in August of last year, so it’ll probably be a while before I upgrade anything else. I’m totally OK with that. I don’t need a pro phone like ever. I don’t think so. it’ll always be like this model all things for me but hey, sorry for rambling about all that.
