Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone on here could give me some good recommendations for iOS apps for online dating. I've tried different ones like zoosk ok Cupid And plenty of fish, but I have had little luck with these apps and voiceover. Any recommendations for good, accessible dating apps will be greatly appreciated.

I use the OKC app every now
I use the OKC app every now and then, and I find it mostly accessible. The only really inaccessible parts I've found are the locals section (I think because all it shows is pictures of the people) and rating people.
OK Cupid
Hi Katie. I use OK Cupid too. It's not perfect, particularly the locals section as Michael said, but I find it mostly works pretty well with VoiceOver. In older versions, you couldn't open the main menu with VO, but that's been fixed.
Plenty of Fish
Plenty of Fish works very well as a site on IOS Safari. I have not tried the app but it is a shame if people find it inaccessible, because, apparently, they are now introducing the ability to send audio messages on the app, which frankly is brilliant if true!

I would like to talk to you guys in more detail about the accessibility of plenty of fish. For starters, that sign up screen is very easy to use. Doing out your profile is very straightforward. Most parts of the app that I have seen seem to work okay. The only flaw I found was in messages. Voice over said empty list.

That's interesting, and does that mean you can't read your messages with the Voiceover?
Dating apps
I've been following this forum and I'm curious about the Plenty of Fish app. I've just been trying the Zoosks app and I can't figure it out at all.
I've done OKCupid, which I'm sticking with at the moment as it seems the most accessible other than eHarmony. But I'm kind of done with paid dating sites. I've managed no dates at all with the paid sites. The OKC app works well, but as someone said, the locals section is awful. I wish they'd do something about it, but I'll take what I can get.
I'm curious though. This has nothing to do with apps, but those using OKC, how did you do on uploading photos. I know it has that thing where you upload and have to click on where your face is. I tried to do this myself and I'm told my photos looked cropped, but apparently my smile is visible.
Date Hookup
Just found this thread, so thought I would respond to it.
The most VoiceOver friendly online dating app I have found so far is called Date Hookup. What's cool about it is that everything on there is absolutely free. It is mostly accessible, which is nice. I only wish there was a way for people to leave audible messages or recordings.

By the way, thanks to this forum thread, I tried OKC. It is pretty accessible actually, although it is not as simple of an interface as DateHookup, in my opinion. Still, it is nice to have another alternative. So thanks all for that suggestion.

Well, I'm not sure why people are saying that this app is not accessible. I had not tried to use it previously because I thought you had to pay to use it. But, while you can upgrade to access certain features, the basic parts of it are free which is fine for me. I find it to be quite accessible. And yes, I can access messages. I can also access the record feature. So, I am quite impressed with it so far.
Tinder was accessible last time I checked
Like I said,tinder was pretty much accessible when I checked it about two months ago. This application is primarily used for alternative types of dating, if you can call it that. But I had no problem getting through any of it, getting messages, liking someone, etc. Maybe thats changed, but it was pretty much completely accessible when I checked in April.
Update to OKC
Hi all. Ok Cupid has just been updated. Overall it's still useable as it was before, but there are a few little annoyances. The main menu is now a grid rather than a list. You can still find the items by exploring the screen, but it's a little trickier. So flicking might be easier for some. Worse than this is the Messages section. Now if you explore by touch, VoiceOver gives you nothing, just the ding sound! But you can go through the page by flicking. Annoying but still useable. The message threads themselves seem fine.

Someone mentioned eHarmony is it accessible? I found the website didn't read all the buttons when signing up.

I'm trying to use tender, but need to know if a blind person can have luck there?
