Hi all,
I was talking with my brother, and he asked me "If you had an idea for an app that could help the blind, what would it be?" simple. An app I call Vision Eyes. Basically, we all use our canes, or guide dogs, to travel. but with Vision Eyes, it's different than using a cane or guide dog. Here's how it works. it uses the frunt facing camera to point to the objects that are in frunt, back, left, or right of you, and, VoiceOver reports to the user what objects are ahead of you. also, If you are at a house, or place that you are not sure how to get around, The app will basically use the frunt facing camera, to point what's left, right, frunt, or in back of you, and using VoiceOver, tell you, for example, "Dresser to your left." How cool would that be? I would love to create the app, but that would require a lot of coding, and a lot of work, and of cource, money. But who knows, that idea could become a reality! what do you guys think. sound off in the comments.

Some Issues with this
There are some issues with this. One is that the phone may not be able to announce objects fast enough. Another being that apps made like this have been bad at detecting things Aipoly for example. Also that it would have to keep a databace of items on the phone which could take up alot of space. I think it is a good idea however I don't think the technology is quite there yet.
A possible adaptation
So instead of a user pointing and the object being announced, I would love to see a sonar like detection feature.
This would send sounds or vibration patterns faster or higher/louder the closer you get to an object /wall and or something in front of the camera view.
I would like to see an app like this.
Vision Eyes would also have that feature
Hey guys, Thanks for the comments. Sure, Vision Eyes would have that feature, but as a previous poster said, the technology is not up their yet. Maybe in the future, though.
