I am desperate for more accurate dictation I have tried using Google's keyboard which will apparently let you use their dictation but it doesn't seem to be fully accessible which is a bummer because Google has wonderful speech recognition. I'm not yet sure if you can add a Microsoft keyboard and use their dictation. I have a new 17 Pro Max so the age of the phone and I hope the quality of the microphone has nothing to do with it. really disappointed by the quality of IOS speech recognition and it slows my productivity down quite a bit. I'm currently using Microsoft Dictation on my PC Right. Now and it is such a dream compared to the results that I get on my phone. I used an android for a year several years ago and I was in love with the dictation But I missed the Apple ecosystem too much. I am so torn because I can navigate the iPhone with much better precision I feel but I take a disproportionately large hit when it comes to dictation Results. If anyone could offer any suggestions I would be super appreciative.

Dictation on the iPhone
I normally use braille screen input on the iPhone. There are times when I will use dictation though. I always get very good results with dictation. Iβm just not sure why there are so many varying results. Some people are fine with dictation, and others have no luck with it at all. Iβm using an iPhone 16 Pro Max, but that really shouldnβt make a difference. Even on my iPhone 12 dictation worked very well for me. However, I do know there are other people that have no luck with it at all. They canβt get it to work properly no matter what they do. Just for reference, I dictated this entire message. I also did not have to make any changes.
Dictation is confusing.
I will preface this comment by saying I usually do not have any trouble with dictation. A few years back Apple dictation models were a bit goofy. They seem to have fixed this. I use the standard Apple keyboard on my iPhone, as well as the standard keyboard models on my Mac. I usually have very few to no problems. I do not talk fast and try to be consistent with the way I speak. I speak at a normal pace and volume level. Also, I have dictated this whole comment. As well as the subject line. I think my best piece of advice that I could give you in regards to dictation and dealing with Siri would be to exercise patients. Always wait for the tone before speaking and remember to stop dictation on the iPhone you have to double tap one more time. On the Mac you have to double tap whichever key you have assigned to dictation. I have only had to go back and make one correction. That was due to a mispronunciation on my part. My first experience with this was Siri on the iPhone 4s. I have used Siri ever since. Dictation shortly after that about the iPhone 5s.
