Anyone having onscreen keyboard problems?

Since the latest IOS update I've been having problems getting the on screen keyboard within apps such as messages, mail and 3rd party apps. The sound accompanying the edit field is like that when you have a blue tooth keyboard connected but I don't.
I've tried turning Bluetooth off but it makes no difference and also tried turning the phone off and on again which occasionally works but not all the time, it's so random when it happens but makes things totally inaccessible unless I use dictation which can often be inaccurate and then I have no keyboard to make amendments.
Anybody else suffering the same or similar? Any thoughts or things I can try to stop this happening? It's making the phone practically unusable.
Many thanks

You can try to reset your keyboard dictionary. You'll find this in your general settings under the reset options. It's a bit of a long shot, but sometimes these small resets can iron out weird glitches. Also, it's worth double-checking if there's another iOS update available. Apple often rolls out patches pretty quickly if a bug is widespread.
Another area to look into is your accessibility settings. Sometimes, changes there can have unexpected effects on things like the keyboard.
If all else fails, the most thorough solution is to back up your phone and do a full restore. It's a bit of a hassle, but it can clear up stubborn issues.

Yes, I have the same problem. What seems to work for me is how I deal with the edit box. Sometimes, I need to one finger double tap more than once, until I hear where the cursor is. when I hear cursor at beginning or cursor at end, then I find the keyboard at the bottom of the screen.. It's no good to look for the keyboard unless and until voiceover tells you where that cursor is

Another thing I do somewtimes is a one finger double tap and hold until I get the second haptic bump, and if the keyboard isn't at the bottom, then I go back and do the one finger double le tap.

Sometimes, I leave the page and come back and do any or all of the above.

Regardless of the way I do it, the good news is that since I've used these workaround methods, I have always found the keyboard; it no longer disappears on me. smile.

No matter what I did in any third-party apps or the stock apps could not get the software keyboard to pop up. It sounds exactly like this post. I would hear the quick nav sounds as I tapped the edit field

On my 14 Pro Max, the keyboard often gets in my way. Pressing space with dots 1-4-6 should toggle the onscreen keyboard, and VoiceOver verbally tells me this, but the keyboard is still there. It makes navigating with a braiile display kind of annoying. I'm wondering if this is the same issue, and if perhaps things are the exact opposite of what they should be. I'm debating on how to file this bug.

It is important this one gets documented as well. I was quite surprised when I called Apple Support that they had no reports of this because I had seen it talked about on here a few times and I had seen it talked about extensively on another forum. I made sure to ask them a few times how they were documenting this and that I wanted to make as sure as I could be this would be looked at. I have no idea what the chances are that it will be but I did my part
