Hi. Over the past month or so I've regularly been having an issue charging my Iphone 6S. it behaves as if the cable is loose and if I move it charging stops briefly and then rstarts or stops altogether. i would assume a problem with the connector as it's happening with multiple cables, multiple plugs etc. However i've spoken to quite a number of people who have recently been having this issue. I'm going to report it to Apple tonight but would be interested to know if others having it here.ht

Hey Peter,

I've seen this happen and it will occur when you are using an unauthorized cable. Yes, I have used an off-brand cable before and for some reason some of my devices won't care and others are pickier. I can say once I bought an authorized cable from Apple this problem will stop. For example, when I had my iPhone 7 I had no problem with the off-brand cable when I used that device. However, when I use that same cable for my iPhone 8. It goes nuts and will do this on and off and on and off thing. Once I plugged in an authorized cable the problem went away. However, if you are using an authorized Apple cord. I would take that cable and the phone to the Apple store. They may find another issue going on with your phone and the plug may be the problem.

Wish you luck!

I don’t believe this one bit. I’ve had my iPhone 8 for only a couple months with light to medium use and audio no longer comes through the lightning cable. There’s no lint in it. I used an air thingy and tried with a toothpick.

The lightning cable adapter I’m using is the one that came from Apple with the iPhone 8.

I won’t ever settle on relying on Bluetooth only because I don’t want to have to remember to charge two separate devices on a different charge schedule just so I can get audio from the same device.

I think Apple will lose this bet especially if they use a technology that is far inferior to the traditional and original 3.5mm audio jack which has stood the test of time.

Apple needs to go back to the standard audio jack. I didn’t have lint issues with the standard 3.5mm audio jack ever.

I’m about to try to return my phone or file a complaint.
