Adding a new contact from Received Call

I am not sure if this is a bug or something with IOS 8.02. today I tried adding a contact from a call I received under the recent tab of the phone app. This number is new and does not exist in my contact list. Anyhow when trying to put in details for the number, like First and Last name, it just would not allow me to type. I could not even get into the edit mode for that field for the keyboard to show up.

Hence, I saved the number without adding any details. Then went to all contacts tab located the number, hit the edit button and was able to furnish the required details. Very cumbersome job as you can tell.

Sometimes if you re-start Voiceover or close down the app then re-open it, that might fix the problem.

Well that exactly is not the solution, Friend. As I said this needs a fix. I hope they are releasing a new update to the IOS, it's good to have the predictive text with 8, but these little bugs annoy in the long run.

Thank you for your quick reply and support.

I just tried to add a contact from my recent call list and had no problems. I clicked on the "more info" button next to the number then clicked on the create new contact button. All the text fields worked like a charm. The turning off and back on of Voiceover has worked for me before when text fields weren't being recognized. That is why I suggested it. Guess maybe it really must be a bug then if all devices aren't affected the same. Good luck with this. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Don't forget to contact Apple and let them know. accessibility@apple.com.

Thanks once again. I will send them a mail with the specs of my phone and try the suggested workaround the next time I encounter a similar situation.
