Hello everyone.
So I was having a conversation with a family member the other day and I got thinking about something that I find to be a very interesting situation. As I am sure you can gather by the name of the topic, that has to do with weather radars.
So I was wondering if any of you know about an accessible weather radar that would allow you to track the location and direction of rain or other participation in your area. To this point, I have not found any that are. I realized in my conversation that, to my knowledge, all we have access to is the general report. However, sometimes that general report leaves out crucial information. Like during that conversation, I looked at that day's report. The report said there were going to be some clouds but no rain, but then my family member's radar showed showers headed in our direction.
that is when I realized how much we actually miss out on by not having the radar.
All that being said, I know that there are plenty of weather apps taht I have not tried at this point. Are there any that you guys use or know about that have an accessible radar?

What about The Weather Gods?
Hello,
What about the app called Weather Gods? I don't know if it has radar, but it's completely accessable with VoiceOver. Best of all, you can actually know when things are happening, with VO off. For instance, if it's raining in your area, you'll hear it. How much UV light is present is also noted by sound/thunder storms as well, so it's kinda like a sonar, I guess but very cool. Please look up The Weather Gods on your iDevice and try it. I think it's about $5 or so, but it's well worth it.
Seconding WG
I have Weather Gods on my iPhone 7 and love it. I believe their "Follow Me" feature is perhaps what you're after, but I haven't really had time to investigate it much. I was actually thinking this same thing a couple nights ago, when my area was hit with some pretty significant T-storms. I heard from some neighbors that a tornado was spotted in a city about half an hour or so from us. But I think your best bet--as has been stated--is to try out the app called Weather Gods and enable "Follow Me" in the app settings. Hth and good luck.
Radar
Thanks Ashleigh and Ekaj for recommending Weather Gods, much appreciated.
Accessible radar is something I am looking into and have been working with AerisWeather (our weather data provider) as to how we can make it happen.
Unfortunately it's pretty complex because it's not as simple as re-interpreting the regular radar map tiles in a non-visual manner.
